The Draft
After your league commissioner, Brian, has sent me the results of your All Star football draft I have decided to write up a report on how well each team has drafted. I have had years of experience around these drafts and this is how you al faired in your very own Fantasy Football Draft:
POWERPUFF GIRLS
Strong Points
- Had enough common sense to take the king of fantasy football, LaDanian Tomlinson, with the first pick, in fact, Tomlinson’s ADP is 1.15 which is pretty much first overall in every draft on Yahoo!
- Tory Holt and Lee Evans will be two of the top 15 receivers in the league this season
Weak Points
- Even though there is depth at the Quarterback position, there is no true talent
- The bench is atrocious and moves need to be made before the first week of games start
Outlook for the season
Stick to your day job because fantasy football definitely isn’t your thing
CROTCH WAFFLES
Strong Points
- Drew Brees is the leader of one of the most effective offenses in the league and is a huge asset
- Steven Jackson is arguably the next greatest running back to play the game, but is still a long way behind Tomlinson
Weak Points
- Edgerrin James has all the talent ever wanted by a running back, but for the second consecutive year will go nowhere because his offensive line is still the same as it was last year
- Terrell Owens is in his second year with a team, which is known as the year where he suddenly doesn’t like the team and becomes more of a distraction then ever thought possible. How bout’ we get on to the NEXT QUESTION!
- You can’t really handcuff Wide Outs, so taking Roy Williams and Calvin Johnson when they are both on the same team isn’t the best of draft choices
Outlook for the season
Due to the large amount of big names but no producers on this team, I predict he will just miss out on the play offs and come in 7th place.
COWBOYS
Strong Points
- Has a strong group of Receivers/ Tight Ends
- Has the most talented and the most depth at RB in the league
Weak Points
- Until Dallas QB Tony Romo can prove he is better than the second half of his games as a starter in 2006, he is very risky to have as your number one starter at the position
- Somehow this player seemed to draft his top guys in bye week positions, which could leave him scrambling to get some players in a few weeks of the season
Outlook for the Season
Will make the playoffs, but will be eliminated in the semi finals
THE WHOLE DAM SHOW
Strong Points
- Has a talented QB in Bulger and has a strong back up in Big Ben Roethlisberger
- Like the cowboys has very talented Runningbacks and good depth at the position
Weak Points
- With the exception of Colston, this team has a bunch of sleeper Receivers, which could end up being great picks or forgotten players
- Even though the Runningbacks are good having to many means he will struggle when he has to fill in spots for bye weeks
Outlook for the Season
Has a strong team but because of the lack of talent at the W/T position he should rename his team 2/3 of the Whole Dam Show because I foresee a loss in the Finals
IN FLAMES
Strong Points
- Has all around talent in the starting line up
- Has the Baltimore’s Defense/Special Teams which is a top 3 defense in the league
Weak Points
- Absolutely no talent in his reserves
- Relying on 2 questionable Runningbacks: Larry Johnson just ended his hold out, so will he able to shake off the rust in time? Will Clinton Portis finally be able to duplicate the success he had in Denver?
Outlook for the Season
Even though the team is CALLED In Flames, they will not be because they will not even have enough juice to make it to the playoffs; 8th place finish
THUNDER
Strong Points
- Has good starting Runningbacks in Rudi Johnson and Willie Parker
- Has a talented group of W/Ts with depth
Weak Points
- McNabb isn’t 100% which could greatly effect his performance, and with big name receivers it might just be the Brian Westbrook show
- Even though there is talent at the W/T on the bench, this manager had wasted to many valuable draft picks on Wide Receivers and Tight Ends
Outlook for the Season
This team has the talent to make a run at it, but will his players stay healthy?
MEXICANWEASELPOPPERS
Strong Points
- Owner of the best QB in the league-à Peyton Manning
- Owner of one of the most promising future running backs-à Reggie Bush, one of the most fun to watch Running backs in the league
Weak Points
- Randy Moss needs to get his ass on the field
- Running backs on the bench or either unproven (Peterson & Benson & Washington) or are just not as good as they were in the past (Lamont Jordan)
Outlook for the Season
Even if a few guys get injured, the depth of this team will carry the manager in a definite top 6 appearance in the league
CHINESE EGGROLLS
Strong Points
- Has a dominating one- two punch in the Palmer to Ocho Cinco hook up
- A strong group of Wide Receivers
Weak Points
- Has one of the worst groups of Running backs in the league
- Has a bunch of old farts on the bench (although Favre is the role model of success, GO PACKERS!!!)
Outlook for the Season
You cant win a league with only 4 or 5 good players, there could be a playoff berth, but just like when you eat an egg roll, the result goes down the toilet like this team
GODZILLAS
Strong Points
- You can’t go wrong with Alexander and Addai at the RB position
- Has good all around talent for the rest of the team
Weak Points
- Besides Burress and Fitzgerald the W/Ts are questionable because of old age
- The manager will have a tough time picking a starting QB from Leinart, Cutler, and Young seeing they are all 2nd year Quarterbacks who are inexperienced
Outlook for the Season
The Godzillas seem to have picked who they wanted early without regards to who they should have picked. We will all see if it pans out or not in the later weeks.
CRUSTY CRABS
Strong Points
- Tom Brady who has all the weapons this year will score huge for this team
- Probably the best group of starting W/Ts in the league
Weak Points
- Running backs- Maroney is in the famous sophomore year where many are known to have a bad season just ask his 2nd starting RB Carnell Williams- who had a horrific second year and is questionable to make a comeback year
- Besides his W/Ts he has no talent at all on the bench which will hurt him down the road
- When half of your team and 2/3’s of your bench is looking to catch the ball, it cant be too good of a thing
Outlook for the Season
This team drafted well in the 1st and 2nd rounds, but after that decided to take receiver after receiver after receiver and didn’t want to take anyone else.
FINAL REMARKS
I am happy to have analyzed your leagues draft, and am looking forward for giving my advice throughout the year. Brian agreed with me that I would do a weekly review of the Matchups when time allows me to do so.
And always remember
